ABOUT TARYN
creative director. dancer. human.
I am an Asian American creative and a follower of Jesus who believes in the transformative power of unconditional love. I am dedicated to serving people from all walks of life and positively shaping culture by capturing the human condition in dance and purpose-driven art.
Taryn is a dancer, choreographer, and creative director born and raised in Los Angeles. Taryn is currently a choreographer under YGX in Seoul, South Korea. She is working in Seoul as a choreographer and dancer for the globe’s biggest K-pop artists, including BLACKPINK, Taeyang, NCT, and Jimin from BTS, to name a few.
Taryn always had a deep love for the arts from a very young age but became heavily involved with the dance community when she joined Gravy Babies in 2013. As her love for dance continued to grow, she began to choreograph and teach at studios across Los Angeles. Since then, she has traveled across the U.S. and the world to teach in countries such as China, Singapore, Mexico, and Australia. Notably, she is also a choreographer for GRV Dance Company.
She is a graduate of the University of Southern California, class of 2019, with a B.S. in Music Industry and a minor in Culture, Media, and Entertainment.
As a Chinese American who has faced obstacles of stereotypes and microaggressions, Taryn is also a creative director who believes in the transformative power of purpose-driven content. By combining dance and film on social media platforms such as YouTube and Instagram, her vision is to both empower individuals and also create dialogue surrounding culture, shared stories, systems of injustice, and human emotion. Taryn’s hope is for dance to be elevated to a mainstream status in media in order to provide younger generations with creative role models to look toward.
